I am on NPR’s Kitchen Window today discussing one of my most favorite ingredients to cook with: Curry Leaves!

Curry Leaves Mojito

Manish Kumar, the lead mixologist at The Park hotel in Bangalore, taught me how to mix this drink. He is the genius behind the spicy cocktails at the hotel’s super popular i-Bar. The secret to making this drink is to use really fresh curry leaves. Dried leaves or curry leaf powder will not work in this recipe. Photo is used here with permission.

Makes 1 drink

8 curry leaves

1 thin lemon wedge

1 teaspoon sugar

1/4 cup citrus vodka

In a glass (a short tumbler works best), muddle the curry leaves, lemon wedge and sugar. Top with crushed ice and citrus vodka. Serve immediately.

I love curry leaves too and it’s hardly missing from my kitchen! This is one hell of a creative drink… would have never thought of adding curry leaves to Mojito.

Monica, it was delish! However it felt more like a martini than a mojito. Am i missing an ingredient or is the vodka the only liquid involved?
